Accident
The average driver is involved in a motor vehicle accident every six years. That is 6,000,000 automobile accidents every year. The vast majority of drivers and passengers walk away. Unfortunately, that is not the whole story.
Symptoms such as headache, neck, arm, shoulder and even low back pain may not be evident immediately following the collision. Often, people are more concerned about the condition of their vehicles than their injuries. This leads many to settle the case as soon as the car is repaired. This can be a mistake.
Soft tissue damage due to motor vehicle trauma worsens over time. Pain and stiffness can start to creep in several days after the accident. Sadly, some accident victims elect to ignore their body's danger signals and never seek treatment for their injuries. As a result, many of the victims will experience intermittent symptoms for the rest of their lives, even following a seemingly minor accident.
